The Kennedy Hall Renovation and Addition project was completed by LS3P and Bordeaux Construction as the Design-Build team. Sandhills Community College was chartered in 1963, and sits on the dividing line between Southern Pines and Pinehurst, NC. The Health Sciences Building project involved both renovation and addition to the existing Kennedy Hall.

Construction began in May of 2021, and involved both a 39,000 gross square foot renovation and a 36,000 gross square foot addition, connected to each other by a circulation “spine.” Renovations to the Kennedy Hall Health Sciences Building included facilities for students studying to be Nurse Aids, Medical Lab Techs, Respiratory Therapists, and Surgical Techs. It also provided learning spaces for Sterile Processing education and Radiography, as well as updated office space for faculty and staff.

The addition to Kennedy Hall is comprised of a large, 250-seat classroom that can be partitioned into three acoustically separated classroom spaces, the Emergency Medical Services program space, a Nursing Skills Lab, and a Simulation Lab Suite.
