SAFETY IS A PRIORITY

The Bordeaux Construction’s Safety Program’s goal is to achieve “Zero” on every project. This means zero accidents and zero incidents – which is how we ensure that anyone who sets foot on our jobsites return home safely and happily each night. Our proven approach to achieving “Zero” on the jobsite is made up of five core principles: proactive training, timely communication, consistent expectations, reliable feedback, and people-first focus. In order to keep our projects hazard-free, we utilize:

      • Site specific jobsite orientation
      • Weekly safety audits
      • Weekly safety meeting on all jobsites
      • Monthly training
      • Monthly safety committee meetings

Bordeaux Construction partnered with NCDOL in October 2021 by being accepted into the Safety and Health Achievement and Recognition Program (SHARP) on the Sandhill Community College Kennedy Hall Renovation and Addition project in Pinehurst, NC. We continued that partnership with NCDOL SHARP on the Tar Heel K8 project in Tar Heel, NC, making that project the third SHARP site in North Carolina. OSHA representatives visited the site every two months to meet with subcontractors, review their safety and training programs, and conduct site walkthroughs. To date, the project has achieved over 214,596 safe man-hours with no recordable injuries or lost-time accidents. This milestone was reached through rigorous efforts, including daily Safety Plan of Action (SPA) completion by each subcontractor, weekly site safety stand-downs, and weekly safety audits. By adhering to rigorous protocols and high expectations for safety, we are able to face challenges head-on, whether or not they are anticipated.

Our on-site leadership and dedication to safety have transformed ours into an award-winning Program.
